The Solaire Wins the Concrete Industry Board of New York, Award of Merit
January 1, 2003
The Concrete Industry Board (CIB) awards are presented to projects that exemplify excellence in concrete in their architectural design, engineering design, general construction and workmanship either individually or in combination. In general, CIB recognizes projects only in Westchester County, Long Island and throughout the five boroughs of New York City.
Located in the North residential neighborhood of Battery Park City, the Soliare is the first high rise residential building to meet BPC’s environmental guidelines, scheduled to achieve a LEED Gold Rating and qualified for NYS Tax Credit as a sustainable residential building. The environmentally responsible design includes BIPVs which supplement 5% of the base electrical load, enhanced indoor air quality, materials with a high level of recycle content, water and storm management systems and is 35% more efficient than NYS Energy Code complying buildings.
