Queens West

In collaboration with Arquitectonica, Queens West consists of seven buildings on a 22-acre waterfront site in Long Island City, six for which SLCE worked as executive architect. Varying from seven to 35 stories, the masterplan forms an urban edge between the traditional mid-rise structure of Queens and the East River waterfront. The scheme is 3,251,000 square feet and comprises 3,000 residential units, a strong contribution to this emerging neighborhood.

The six buildings are each designed for different residential markets in apartment types and amenities, including 12 acres of green parks, a children’s playroom, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, landscaped terraces with barbecues, a fitness center, dining rooms, and lounges. Parking is provided in a multi-story garage of 1,000 spaces. Queens West has been selected in several top ten lists for best gyms, best amenities, and best buildings for pets.
