The German Mission to the United Nations is a 23-story office building covering 103,500 square feet. This slender tower, with a typical office floor of a mere 4,500 square feet, while too small for conventional offices, has proven ideal for this Mission’s criteria for natural light and fresh air through operable windows for every office worker. The taut granite and glass rectangular building shape is accentuated by chevrons of stainless steel trim, culminating in finials at the building’s crown. The German Mission requirements for quality and its particular needs were satisfied by numerous sub-consultants and interior designers.
