250N10
250N10 is a six-story, 237,285-square-foot building with a curved façade designed by SLCE in the Williamsburg district of Brooklyn. Its cutting-edge exterior design addresses a younger demographic, often entering the job market for the first time. The building has 233 rental units, which are a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, usually addressing the shared market. Amenities stress interaction and community for those who might have only recently graduated and who are attracted to this vibrant, edgy neighborhood.
The main street façade turns a gentle corner and is articulated with stepped color-banded horizontal elements. The semi-recessed 116-space parking facility raises the ground level to provide defensible space and allows double-height amenity spaces. In addition, the building boasts over 10,000 square feet of amenity space, comprised of a 24-hour lounge, outdoor courtyard, entertainment lounge on the top floor, and rooftop terrace.
As the Manhattan market has matured and become increasingly inaccessible to young and talented professionals, both in the burgeoning technology sector and in the arts, SLCE has increasingly been tasked with the design of major residential buildings in new neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens, which afford easy subway access to the city across the East River. This market has demonstrated consistent growth over the last few decades, which is only expected to continue with New York’s ongoing resurgence.
