The New School University Center

In collaboration with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the New School’s University Center is a mixed-use educational facility, located at the intersection of 14th Street and Fifth Avenue. SLCE provided layouts and massing for 150,000 square feet of student accommodations on the top nine floors, totaling 600 beds.

Designed by SOM, the lower seven floors of campus and educational spaces contain 12 classrooms, 28 studios, seven science labs, a library, a cafeteria, faculty offices, student lounges, and an 800-seat auditorium from the ground to the seventh floor. The building achieved LEED Gold certification.
