Legacy and Westwind Houses
Located in East Harlem in Manhattan, the Legacy and Westwind Houses are comprised of two eight-story buildings, providing a mix of supportive and affordable housing apartments with a total of 112 units spread over 110,000 square feet of building area. A number of apartments are set aside for formerly homeless singles, and Legacy Houses features a social services office at the ground floor, providing on-site services to the building tenants.
The buildings were designed to achieve Energy Star certification and feature various sustainable elements including eco-conscious interior finishes, LED lighting, and sustainably sourced wood flooring. Tenant amenities consist of interior recreation and community rooms, extensive landscaped rear gardens, a children’s playground, and picnic areas shared by both buildings.
