Maxwell Place – Building C
The third building of a planned four-building development, Building “C” of Maxwell Place on the Hudson River is 12 stories and 309,000 square feet, including 25,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. It is comprised of 210 residential units and 374 parking spaces and provides parking for the future fourth structure. Roof terraces for the residential units can be found on the seventh floor setback and above the 12th floor.
With a maximum building height of 125 feet, and as a reflection on the past, this building fits into the fabric of Hoboken’s older neighborhoods. The site was once the home of Maxwell House coffee and is one city block long. Its 400-foot-long façade is articulated to break down the length to human scale, and this helps define the retail spaces at street level.
Using brick and a combination of punched and window wall, with a structural stud backup wall, the insulation in the cavity helps increase energy efficiency.
