Provost Square
Once complete, Provost Square will consist of four buildings, of which three will be market-rate and one will be affordable housing. At 38, 33, 32 and 28 stories, the 1.6-million-square-foot project will be comprised of 925 units; 32 of these will be affordable and 12 will be designated as live-work units.
Phase 1 was completed in 2014, and comprised 417 units, 16,000 square feet of ground-floor retail, and parking for almost 300 cars. There is residential amenity space on the eighth floor that fronts a landscaped roof terrace with almost 20,000 square feet of roof area, including a green roof, exterior entertaining space, swimming pool, and dog run. The development of subsequent phases 2 and 3 will include a 550-seat performing arts center and 12 live-work units for artists.
The building’s façade is designed as a reinforced concrete flat plate with window wall and punched windows in brick and metal panel openings. Since the property is below the base flood elevation, the ground floor has been designed to be dry-flood-proofed with removable storm water gates.
